Utility company sends me energy saving tips

So, I am doing more than what is commanded

For the most part, I am absolutely careful when it comes to using excess energy in our home, I am trying our best to reduce our carbon footprint wherever I can. I drive less than I did before, I recycle and have taken measures to reduce the waste that I create in our home. In addition, I have also cut back on using our air conditioner! I need to use the A/C for comfort especially while I was in the summer, but the air conditioner contributes a lot to global warming, due to the big amounts of electricity it takes to power the units, and some of the coolants used emit toxic gasses into the ozone. As you already know, weather conditions change is becoming a major issue, and it will take all of us to play our parts in tackling this problem. I can’t fix everything, however we can make small swings in our lives to conserve energy. If you pay attention to your power bill, there are consistently tips on how to conserve more energy. So even the power companies are well aware of the issue. In fact, our utility corporation constantly sends me SMSs on energy usage, and how to conserve and save money on our utility bill. I am already practicing most of the tips that they have recommended , but for instance, I have increased the temperature on our control component from 75 degrees to 79 degrees while I was in the afternoon. The Department of Energy recommends setting our control units to 78 degrees in the summer. So, I am doing more than what is commanded. And to my surprise, setting our control component to 79 degrees is more comfortable than I thought it would be.
